McDonald's has three separate customer channels in Canada, and which one to use depends on how you ordered. A restaurant visit goes through the feedback line. An order placed in the McDonald's app for delivery has its own round-the-clock number. An order through a delivery marketplace belongs to that marketplace.
Match the channel to how you ordered
| You ordered | Contact |
|---|---|
| In the restaurant or drive-thru | 1-888-424-4622 (Mon to Fri 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sat 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET) |
| Delivery through the McDonald's app | 1-833-510-0332, 24 hours |
| Through Uber Eats or DoorDash | That app's support, which issues refunds for its orders |
| Written complaint | mcdonalds.com/ca, Contact Us, Talk to Us |
For a paper letter, head office is McDonald's Restaurants of Canada Limited, 1 McDonald's Place, Toronto, ON M3C 3L4.
Why the owner-operator matters
A large share of McDonald's restaurants are run by local owner-operators who hire their own crews. That is useful to know: a rude cashier or a repeated mix-up is something the restaurant's owner can correct directly, and head office will often pass your message on to them. A complaint that names the restaurant, the day and the shift is far easier to act on than a general comment about the brand.
What to write in the message
Keep it to a short paragraph: the restaurant's address, the date and time of the visit, the receipt or app order number, and what you expect. Say whether you want a refund, a replacement meal or a call from the manager. Attach a photo of the receipt or the item if one helps.
Health, hygiene and labelling
The right office depends on the problem. Illness or an unclean dining room belongs with your public health unit, which can inspect the premises; see a doctor before anything else if you feel unwell. Sealed products with something foreign inside, or mislabelled ingredients, are for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. For allergies, say so again when you collect your order and check the packaging before leaving. If a reaction happens, get medical help first, then keep the receipt and wrapping and report the incident to the manager and head office so it is on record.
A charge you did not agree to
If a wrong amount stays on your statement after the restaurant and head office have heard from you, take the dispute to your card issuer or to your provincial consumer office.
Name the restaurant and describe the visit; Asya prepares a message head office can hand to the owner.
